Sevilla v Atletico Madrid Betting Preview
Sevilla v Atletico Madrid Betting Tips
This week, we’ll take a look at 3 of the best fixtures across Europe’s biggest leagues. The tables are starting to take shape now and it looks like we could be in for some shock title wins come next May.
Sevilla vs Atletico Madrid - 5pm, 2nd November
We’re heading over to Spain now to take a look at a match between two of La Liga’s top five teams. Sevilla are the hosts and will be looking to defeat an Atletico side that has not lost in the league since 14th September. It sounds like a tough ask for Sevilla, but they’ve started the season strongly themselves. They haven’t exactly blown teams away, or kept them at bay with a solid defence, but they’ve often won close games by the odd goal. 14 goals scored and 12 conceded in 11 games is hardly convincing reading for a side that finds themselves in 5th. 4 of the 6 games they have won in La Liga so far have been by just 1 goal. If they are going to beat a resilient Atletico side, expect another tight game.
Sevilla Exact Winning Margin - 1 - ODDS: 3/1
Sevilla might be winning a lot of close games, but there isn’t any side better at containing their opponent than Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone has consistently made Atleti one of the best defensive sides in European football. This season, they’ve conceded just 6 goals in 11 games, even after losing Diego Godin in the summer. Godin wasn’t the biggest departure from the Wanda Metropolitano however. Antoine Griezmann finally left for Barcelona and has left a goalscoring void in the Atletico front line. It has opened the door for Joao Felix, but it will be another few years before Felix reaches the same levels as the Frenchman. Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata are both starters for Atletico, but even 2 of Spain’s top strikers haven’t been able to help this season. The whole side has scored just 11 goals this season, an average of 1 per game. If they are going to go to Sevilla and win, it’ll probably take more than just the single goal.
